Nordstrom Beauty Trend Event - REMIXED

Snippet of Trend Show

Last Saturday Nordstrom hosted their Fall/Winter Beauty Trend Show at The Somerset Collection. About 150 guests filled the third level of the retailer to enjoy beauty and fashion trends. Some of the brands featured were Ted Baker, Alice+Olivia, Reformation, Rachel Roy and Steve Madden. The trends highlighted were Mesh, Metallic, Plaid, Animal Print, and Boho.

So y’all already know I had to recreate these MY WAY, right? You betcha I did!

Below is my take on Fall’s hottest trends. Have a little fun this season and if you’re not as daring, at least add one element of these trends. I guarantee you’ll get noticed. Don’t be shy either! OWN. IT.

Alright! You’ve probably noticed that animal print keeps popping out of EVERYWHERE. It’s wild and fun and serves to add personality to your wardrobe! I. Love. It. Go head and add some additional sexy to this trend by adding sheer mesh. Why not mix a few trends? Throw on some cat eye glasses and take your “meow” to the next level. Also, would you believe that this entire look is from Forever 21? Get in on these flare legs here!

Plaid

Remember that plaid doesn’t have to be your typical neutral tones. Have fun with some color! I recently rediscovered this TopShop frock. It’s from last year’s Spring collection, BUT… layers! I added a sheer mesh, long sleeved top and I’m ready (remember you can do this with any short sleeves). You can also pair your plaid pieces with animal print (click here to see an example). Uh huh! If you’re like me and have also rediscovered your sexy, look for slits or lower necklines.

I added two trends to create a harmonious galaxy. I chose to mix silver and gold metallic to avoid being matchy-matchy; something that I try to get my clients to shy away from also. Along with the sequin top, I’ve invited the best of three worlds. You can do it too!

Boho-Luxe

Transparent moment: I made this category/term up! LOL…but that’s my business. You’ve for sure heard of the Boho-Chic (think Free People or Anthropologie) before, yes? Well just add a bit of “shine” (boots) and glamour (earrings) and viola, you’re now in the luxe category. You’re welcome! The shine or glam don’t have to be your shoe selection; it can be a belt or scarf. Just remember the shine/glam element. Whatever you do, make no apologies and continue to create!
