The Little Black Dress On Repeat!

The Little Black Dress is and always will be a wardrobe staple! We can now add work and play and every place in between to what was once black tie or cocktail attire.

The Little Black Dress (LBD) surely has come a long way! By that I mean its silhouette and style. LBDs were once a go-to for formal wear, but now can be seen in offices, less formal parties and everywhere in between. Not only has the shape evolved, but so has the length and material. LBDs are plentiful and a MUST-HAVE for everyone woman’s closet!

Black, if you haven’t noticed, is one of my favorite colors so I have MANY black dresses! LOL. One that I have been enjoying lately (by lately I mean the last several years) is my Target purchased sleeveless, rib-knit mock turtleneck midi dress. Don’t fret, click the Target link and it’ll take you to one with long sleeves! However, I like the many options that my sleeveless dress gives.

Below, I feature a few styled looks with my LBD. Remember your possibilities are endless! By now, I’ve (hopefully) encouraged you to activate more creativity with simple pieces that you (should) already own, so I’m expecting some great feedback about your looks that you’re rocking out. *insert wink*

Pop of Color

Bright colors aren’t just for spring/summer! This pink fedora from Kaydense Galleria adds a fun element to the sophisticated LBD. Remember, your accessories can take a basic piece from “hello” to “HEY GIRL HEY!”

Moto Jacket

Here’s another POP of color, but a black moto can add a sexy element as well. Don’t forget your funky shoes/boots!

Dress on Dress

Listen, don’t put your summer dresses up (I never do) yet! You also know that I am the queen of layering, yes? Go ahead and layer a wrap (or button up dress) maxi dress with your LBD and give us boho-chic meets foxy vibes when you add a leather belt.

Scarf or Wrap

A scarf is my jam! It can be worn numerous ways (that’s another post for a different day). In this case, it adds a little “meow” and can turn a day look into a night look (or vice versa depending on who and where you are).
